This cultural trail is the most popular trek in the world which follows the highly praised trekking route through the Dudh Koshi River to the Tengboche monastery. After a 35 minutes mountain flight to Lukla the trail continues north up towards Dudh Kosi valley to Monjo, where the trail officially enters Sagarmatha or Everest National Park. We take a rest day in Namche Bazaar for acclimatization. There are a number of local excursions that we might enjoy. We can hike up above Namche to the Sagarmatha National Park Visitor’s Center and Museum, where there are terrific views of the Everest region and numerous educational displays on the culture, geography, geology, climatology, and wildlife within the park and the Khumbu. Tengboche is a popular place in Everest Region. In Tengboche there is a traditional Buddhist Monastery where lots of visitors come for traditional yoga and meditations. From Tengboche we can see Mount Everest, Mount Lhotse, Mount Nuptse, Mount Ama dablam etc.

Day 01 : Arrival in Kathmandu
Upon arrival you will be met and assisted by an Himalayan Idol representative and transferred to Hotel.
Day 02 : Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla
Transfer to the airport for the mountain flight to Lukla. Our destination is Lukla, perched high on a mountainside above the Dudh Kosi (River of Milk), where we make an unforgettable landing on its 1,729-foot-long, 65-foot-wide runway. From Lukla, the trail descends 1,500 feet down to the Dudh Kosi river for further trek to Phakding village.
Day 03 : Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar.
The trail continues north up towards Dudh Kosi valley to Monjo, where the trail officially enters Sagarmatha or Everest National Park. Continue along the trail and begin the steep climbing up the “Namche Hill” to the Sherpa market town of Namche Bazaar.
Day 04 : Rest Day in Namche Bazaar.
We take a rest day in Namche Bazaar for acclimatization. There are a number of local excursions that we might enjoy. We can hike up above Namche to the Sagarmatha National Park Visitor’s Center and Museum, where there are terrific views of the Everest region and numerous educational displays on the culture, geography, geology, climatology, and wildlife within the park and the Khumbu. It is also possible to make a 2-2½ hour hike up to Syangboche and the Everest View Hotel.
Day 05 : Trek from Namche Bazaar to Phortse (Sherpa Village).
We will get our breakfast in the lodge and then start our trek further to Tengboche. Tengboche is a popular place in Everest Region. In Tengboche there is a traditional Buddhist Monastery where lots of visitors come for traditional yoga and meditations. From Tengboche we can see very nice views of Himalayan Mountains. From Tengboche we can see Mount Everest, Mount Lhotse, Mount Nuptse, Mount Ama dablam etc. This is one of the best places to stay in overall.
From Tengboche we trek further to the Sherpa village Phortse. Phortse is a beautiful village in everest region. It takes about 5 to 6 hours then overnight at camp or lodge.
Day 06 : Trek from Phortse to Khumjung
From Phortse the trail drops sharply down to the village of Sansa, where we cross the river, and up toward Namche Bazaar, winding high above the river with views north towards mount Everest, Lhotse and Nuptse.
Day 07 : Trek from Khumjung to Namche
Trek down to Namche Bazaar, a color full center of Sherpa community. From Namche the trail continues downwards Dudhkoshi Valley via Monjo, after that continue trek down to Phakding.
Day 08 : Phakding to Lukla
From Phakding the trail continues down to the Dudh Koshi river. We relax in the extremely comfortable Himalaya Lodge or camp.
Day 09 : Return to Kathmandu.
This morning we will be transferred to Lukla Airport for our morning flight back to Kathmandu. During flight to Kathmandu we can see the close up views of the Himalayas. We land in Kathmandu and transfer to the Hotel.
Team Membership
For the Sherap Village Trekking we will take minimum 2 trekkers and maximum of 20 trekkers.
Fitness and what to expect
We are travelling in high and remote terrain at moderately high altitudes. Members will best have a moderate level of fitness to enjoy the experience to its fullest. The trails are sometimes steep and a couple of the trek days quite long (about 6 hours). Weather can deteriorate and rain, strong winds and even some snow are possible. However we are travelling at a mild time of the year to best appreciate the surroundings.
Hotel
There are every category of accommodation facilities that range from the international standard star hotels to budget hotels and lodges; therefore the hotel reservation is not a difficult task. You can make reservation as per you budget. 'Himalayan Idol ' is ready to make any arrangement for you as per your wish, desire and budget.
Food
Food will be of the highest standard possible, given the remoteness of the situation. Please inform us if you have any special dietary requirements.
In the Sherap Village Trekking we will be dining in the Lodge.
