Koshitappu Wildlife Safari

Koshi Tappu wild life reserve has carved a place it self as a birdwatchers's paradise. The reserve spreads over saptari and Sunsari district in eastern south of Nepal defined by the eastern and western embankments of River Koshi. The reserve has been recognized as wetland site from 1987.The vegetation of the reserve is mainly grassland with patches of scrub and deciduous reverine forest that makes Koshi tappu special is that birds seen here are not found other part of Nepal. The reserve has recorded around 439 species of bird variety.Some of which fly all the way from Siberia during winter .A wide variety of Ducks, herons, storks egrets, ibis are seen on the River bank. It has one of the few elephant stables of Asia. Other animals are found here are wild buffalo wild boar, hog deer, spotted deer, blue bell and jackal. Gharial Corcodile and Gangetic dolphin are other attractions. The best time to visit Koshi Tappu is between Octobers to April.

Koshi Tappu Wildlife Camp is the very first luxury camp established in the Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve in the year 1993. Activities (Morning / Evening Jungle Walk)
The jungle along the belts of the Koshi River, part of the Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve is known for its richness in birds and other animal species. The river lagoons and wetlands provides excellent opportunity to sight bird life, deer and herds of water buffaloes.

Day : 01
Arrive Biratnagar airport. Meet and drive to Koshi Tappu Wildlife Camp.
1300 Hrs : Lunch
1500 Hrs : Birding in the nearby surroundings of the park.
1900 Hrs : Dinner

Day : 02
0530 Hrs : Wake up call.
0600 Hrs : Morning nature walk within near vicinity.
0800 Hrs : Breakfast.
0900 Hrs : Soft Widlife Rafting on the Sapta Koshi river with naturalists to help you view some of the water birds, water buffaloes, dolphins and various water habitats. End boat trip by the bank of the river and have picnic lunch. Short drive to the Koshi Barrage to view the bird life and fresh water Dolphins. Late afternoon return to the camp.
1900 Hrs : Dinner.

Day : 03
0530 Hrs : Wake up call.
0600 Hrs : Morning nature walk within near vicinity.
0800 Hrs : Breakfast.
0900 Hrs : Birding all along the dam of the Koshi River and the area of Pink tower crossing the Koshi barrage. Picnic lunch at the pink tower. Late afternoon return to the camp for birdwatching..
1900 Hrs : Dinner.

Day : 04
0530 Hrs : Wake up call.
0600 Hrs : More bird watching in to the jungle near by.
0800 Hrs : Breakfast.
0900 Hrs : Departure to Biratnagar airport.
